Welcome
St. Kitts is a vista of rolling green hills, soothed by trade winds that banish humidity. Welcome to a land ablaze with hibiscus, swaying royal palms, and pristine Savannah grass! Here, stunning white sand beaches are met by the superior strength of the Atlantic Ocean and in the distance, mist-shrouded Islands lie still like gems in a blue velvet box.
St. Kitts boasts just 53,500 inhabitants. On this sleepy 68 square mile Caribbean Isle, the locals are laid back and friendly – perhaps reminiscent of their British heritage – the reflection of a gentler people who have a different order to their priorities. Mingled among them are those few and far between who have resigned from big-city living and surrendered to this small slice of paradise, now lovingly calling St. Kitts home.
The Nation’s capital, Basseterre, French for ‘lowland’, reveals the subtle struggle that ensues between the tangled roots of the past and the Island’s urge to align itself with the present. The city bustles with traffic and an orderly flow of Islanders as they go about their daily chores. Yet, civilly, some stores close for lunch on Thursdays and Saturdays, and a blanket of peace descends each day around four o’clock in the afternoon when business ends for the day.
With uncrowded beaches, quaint plantation houses, awe-inspiring structures, and even a scenic railway, St. Kitts holds a treasure trove of interesting activities and exciting excursion opportunities for your enjoyment. As you will see by exploring this website, there is so much more to St. Kitts than meets the eye and we are willing to show you all this unique Island has to offer.
